As we continue to celebrate Barkston’s 55th anniversary this month we just wanted to showcase some of the people that keep things moving here at our Leeds offices including Accounts, Production, Purchasing, Sales & Marketing.

February was such a busy month for Barkston with National Apprenticeship Week and appearing at Leeds Apprenticeship Job Fair at First Direct Arena for the very first time. It was a total sell-out with many companies in attendance and over 11K tickets sold on the day. The event was the biggest apprenticeship recruitment fair in the north of England.

The fair gave visitors the chance to speak with employers and training providers about apprenticeship opportunities in Leeds. Visitors could learn about what apprenticeships involve, how they work, and how to find higher and degree apprenticeships.

Becoming an apprentice with Barkston Plastic Engineering will allow you to build a wide range of skills within a supportive and successful business. Our apprenticeships follow a structured programme under which you will receive close mentoring from experienced staff alongside support from our apprenticeship provider both at college and in the workplace.

There are currently two apprenticeships we’re currently hiring for including Plastic Fabricators (Level 2) and Customer Care Apprentice (Level 2). For more information visit our recruitment pages on our websites.

Today marks the 55th anniversary of Barkston, Home of The Plastic People. Our heritage dates back to August 1969 where business started from premises in Low Road, Hunslet, Leeds in West Yorkshire.
