Chemical Dosing Cabinets

Chemical-Resistant Dosing Cabinets – Case Study
A water-treatment equipment provider required a more durable enclosure for a chemical-dosing installation operating in a demanding wastewater environment.

The existing metal cabinet was exposed to moisture, treatment chemicals and regular washdown. Over time, corrosion had begun to affect the external structure, fixings and internal mounting areas, increasing maintenance requirements and creating the risk of premature replacement.

Barkston Engineering developed a fabricated thermoplastic dosing cabinet designed specifically for the operating environment. Manufactured from a chemically resistant plastic selected around the treatment chemical, concentration and operating conditions, the cabinet provided a corrosion-resistant alternative to conventional metal construction.

The unit was manufactured with access doors, internal mounting panels and accurately positioned openings for pipework, pumps and control equipment. By supplying the cabinet and associated containment components as part of the same project, Barkston helped simplify assembly and installation while ensuring the materials were suitable for the chemical environment.

The completed solution delivered:

  • Improved resistance to corrosion and chemical attack.
  • Longer expected service life than the previous metal enclosure.
  • Secondary containment for leaks & spills.
  • Lower overall weight for easier handling and installation.
  • A bespoke layout designed around the dosing equipment.

At Barkston Engineering, we manufacture more than individual plastic components. We build complete fabricated solutions for water-treatment and chemical-dosing applications where reliability, containment and material performance are essential.
